SUMMARY:Harnessing Renewables for a Sustainable Future - Exploring CCU\, Power-to-X and Solar-to-X Innovations
DESCRIPTION:📆 EnergyVille in Genk\, Belgium\n📍 4-5 June 2024\nFrom the SUNERGY initiative and the EU funded SUNER-C CSA project\, in collaboration with the European Innovation Council\, imec\, EuroTech Universities Alliance and the EU projects CATART\, CONDOR and FlowPhotoChem\, we are organizing the event: “Harnessing Renewables for a Sustainable Future – Exploring CCU\, Power-to-X and Solar-to-X Innovations”. \nOn 12 December 2023\, the European Innovation Council published a 24 Mio. EUR Challenge dedicated to solar-to-X technologies\, with the goal to develop devices at the prototype level\, to establish metrics for a fair benchmarking and to explore underlying phenomena by means of computational materials science. We take this open call as an occasion to organise a two-day event around innovations providing fossil-free products for diverse sectors\, such as renewable hydrogen\, sustainable aviation fuels or green fertilizers. \nDiscussions will span the whole innovation chain: latest results from excellent academic research\, ways to scale up innovative solar-to-X technologies\, demonstrations of mature solutions on their way to commercialisation and their integration into the existing energy system. \nWhat you can expect: \n\nGain a comprehensive overview of the current state-of-play of solar-to-x technologies\nPitch your project or present your results in diverse working groups\nExchange with leading academics\, visionary entrepreneurs\, industrial leaders\, policymakers\, and investors\nDiscuss ways to move from technology readiness levels to manufacturing readiness levels\nExplore viable business models for solar-to-x technologies\nContribute to the development of a holistic techno-sustainability methodology\nFind partners for future projects and enjoy ample opportunities to network\n\nNext to plenaries and panel discussions\, the programme will include workshops in parallel sessions\, some of which provide the opportunity to pitch project results. DESCRIPTION:📆 5th & 6th\, June 2024\n📍 Berlin\, Germany \nThe transportation sector is one of the largest contributors to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the world\, accounting for almost 30% of total economy-wide greenhouse gas emissions. \nIn addition to using biofuels\, the EU is now switching its focus toward hydrogen and e-Fuels to help decarbonize the passenger and freight transport sectors. Hydrogen is an essential component of the new climate-neutral economy and will play a key role\, particularly in the maritime and air transport sectors\, where decarbonisation cannot be achieved solely through electrification. \n🔗 Find more information about the event here.
