First SUN2X-SET Roadmapping Workshop

The SUN2X-SET project is pleased to announce its first in-person Roadmapping Workshop, taking place on 19–20 October 2026 at the European Commission’s DG RTD premises in Brussels.

This milestone event will officially launch the SUN2X-SET Working Groups and kick off the collaborative process towards the first European Direct Solar Fuels (DSF) Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) and Technological Roadmap.

What to expect

The workshop will bring together stakeholders from academia, industry, research organisations, civil society, and public authorities to identify the priorities, milestones, and pathways needed to accelerate the development and scale-up of DSF technologies in Europe.

Building on the SUNERGY SRIA and SUNER-C Technological Roadmap, the workshop will include stakeholder consultations addressing the specific needs, challenges, barriers, and key actions required to strengthen the European DSF R&I ecosystem.

The outcomes will contribute to the development of the DSF Roadmap, support the integration of DSF priorities into the SET Plan R&I priorities, and contribute to the Green Deal Industrial Plan, the Net Zero Industry Act, and European Research Area priorities. Dedicated sessions will also support defining indicators and KPIs to monitor progress towards relevant EU energy, climate, and transport objectives.
