SUN2X-SET project EU Forum on Direct Solar Fuels Information Webinar

SUN2X-SET hosted its first Information Webinar for External Stakeholders, bringing together participants interested in the development and deployment of Direct Solar Fuels in Europe.

On 29 June 2026, SUN2X-SET hosted its first Information Webinar for External Stakeholders, bringing together participants interested in the development and deployment of Direct Solar Fuels (DSF) in Europe. The webinar introduced SUN2X-SET, the EU Forum for Direct Solar Fuels, a Horizon Europe project supporting the implementation of the SET Plan and strengthening Europe's leadership in DSF. Participants received an overview of the project's objectives, organisation, and activities, as well as its role in bringing together stakeholders from industry, academia, research organisations, policymaking, and civil society. A key focus of the webinar was the presentation of the SUN2X-SET Working Groups, highlighting opportunities for external stakeholders to contribute their expertise and perspectives to the project's activities and to help shape the future of Direct Solar Fuels in Europe. The session also presented the project's communication and engagement activities, including upcoming actions such as the SUN2X-SET roadmapping workshop and webinar series. The event concluded with a Q&A session, providing participants with an opportunity to exchange views and learn more about how they can engage with the SUN2X-SET community. The webinar marked an important first step in expanding the SUN2X-SET stakeholder community and fostering collaboration across the European DSF ecosystem.

First in-person SUN2X-SET Consortium Meeting

On the 2nd of June, the SUN2X-SET consortium gathered in Brussels at the premises of the project coordinator, EERA, for our first in-person Operational Kick-Off Meeting.

On the 2nd of June, the SUN2X-SET consortium gathered in Brussels at the premises of the project coordinator, the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) for our first in-person Operational Kick-Off Meeting. Following the successful launch of the project in May, partners came together to align on priorities, coordinate upcoming activities, and take the first steps towards building the EU Forum for Direct Solar Fuels R&I. Over the next two years, SUN2X-SET will work to strengthen Europe's leadership in Direct Solar Fuels (DSF) by bringing together stakeholders from industry, academia, research, policymaking, and civil society. Together, we will develop Europe's first Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) and Technological Roadmap for DSF, while supporting the integration of the sector into the Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan) framework.
