The “Seawater sourcing for renewable hydrogen and chemicals” will take place on the 8th-9th of June 2023 from lunch to lunch at DG RTD premises in Rue du Champ de Mars in Brussels.
The workshop is co-organised by the European Innovation Council, the European Commission’s DG RTD, ANEMEL, the Clean Hydrogen Joint Undertaking and the EuroTech Universities Alliance.
The aim of this workshop is to discuss the use of seawater for a broad range of applications, including the production of renewable fuels and chemicals, mining or energy storage.
A multidisciplinary group of experts from industry, academia and policy-makers will discuss innovative desalination methods, including brines treatment, as well as direct seawater electrolysis or the use of seawater for co-electrolysis. The experts will draft a white paper presenting the technologies using seawater as a source that should strongly be supported by the European Commission in accordance with the achievement of the EU Green Deal objectives.
The workshop will also host a “pitch session” to show-case real-life demonstration projects or technologies in this area. If you would like to participate in the pitch session with your project, please provide details when pre-registering (see below).
Our lineup of confirmed speakers includes leaders from governmental organizations, industry and academia.
