Sustainable and Low Carbon Fuels and Chemicals: Time for Take Off
April 13 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Free
📅 Thursday, April 13th.
📄 The Maison Irène et Frédéric Joliot-Curie, the French public research network in Brussels, is set to host a workshop organized by the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) entitled “Sustainable and low carbon fuels for energy transition”. This event is part of the official 2023 agenda of the Maison Irène et Frédéric Joliot-Curie, which aims to promote scientific and technical exchanges between France and Belgium.
🎯 The workshop will focus on the role of sustainable and low carbon fuels in achieving the European Union’s ambitious energy transition objectives, which include reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Specifically, the discussion will center around the potential of these fuels to “defossilize” industry sectors where electrification alone will not be enough.
👩💼 Representatives from industry, research institutions, academia, the European Commission, and Member States will gather to discuss the topic and the challenges that lie ahead. Among the speakers are officials from the European Commission and the French Ministry of Research and Education, as well as representatives from CEA, Safran, Siemens Energy, CO2 Value Europe, and the Association of Chemical Industry of the Czech Republic.
🎤 A few speakers:
- Bernd Kuepker from the European Commission’s DG ENER
- Tudy Bernier from CO2 Value Europe
- Thibault Cantat from CEA
- Nicolas Jeuland from Safran
